Ingredients – Baked Italian Sausage With Bell Pepper

8 Italian sausages 

2 green bell peppers, sliced

2 red bell peppers, sliced

1 onion, sliced

¼ cup olive oil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

Other Ingredients for Serving

Italian or French bread

Giardiniera

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice sausage in half if they are long.

Step 2:

Place the cut sausage, bell peppers, and onions in the center of the pan. Drizzle with the olive oil , then sprinkle with salt, basil, oregano, black pepper. Toss to combine, then arrange in a single layer. Bake for 25-35 minutes, until the peppers are as tender as you like, tossing once half way through. Remove from the oven and serve hot.

Notes:

It may look like a lot at first but after everything is baked the sausages and peppers shrink quite a bit. I do suggest adding a salad or another side dish to make it a full meal.
