These BBQ Cauliflower Bites make a fantastic appetizer, side dish, or plant-based snack. The combination of coconut aminos, tomato paste, honey, and spices creates a delicious, tangy-sweet BBQ flavor.

The roasting process brings out the natural sweetness of the cauliflower and gives it a wonderfully crisp texture. The apple cider vinegar provides a nice acidic note to balance the other flavors.

1. BBQ Cauliflower Bites Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, broken into bite-sized florets
  • 2 tablespoons good quality olive oil or avocado oil
  • 4 tablespoons coconut aminos or light soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons organic tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cauliflower florets, olive oil, coconut aminos (or soy sauce), tomato paste, honey, garlic salt, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Toss everything together until the cauliflower is evenly coated.

Spread the cauliflower florets out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping the florets halfway through, until the cauliflower is tender and lightly browned.

Remove the roasted cauliflower from the oven and drizzle the apple cider vinegar over the top. Toss to coat.

Serve the BBQ Cauliflower Bites warm, garnished with extra chopped parsley or green onions if desired.

You can adjust the seasonings to your taste, adding more or less of the garlic salt, onion powder, or smoked paprika. The coconut aminos can be substituted with low-sodium soy sauce or tamari for a similar effect.

These BBQ Cauliflower Bites are a nutritious and crowd-pleasing alternative to traditional fried or breaded appetizers. Serve them as part of a veggie-forward spread or enjoy them on their own as a simple, flavorful snack.
