1. Cabbage, Sausage, and Potato Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Kielbasa sausage, casings removed
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 4 cups diced potatoes
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks, until it’s no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer the cooked sausage to a plate and set aside.

Add the diced onion to the same pot and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Add the shredded cabbage, diced potatoes, chicken or vegetable broth, and diced tomatoes to the pot. Stir in the dried thyme and oregano, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

Stir the cooked sausage back into the soup and let it heat through, about 5 minutes.

Ladle the Cabbage, Sausage, and Potato Soup into bowls and garnish with ground black pepper, if desired.

The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity – with just a few basic ingredients and minimal effort, you can create a truly delectable and nourishing soup that will become a staple in your winter meal rotation.
