There’s nothing I love more than cooking up comforting dishes that remind me of home. As someone who has moved around a lot over the years, finding recipes that transport me back to my roots is so meaningful. This Creamy Garlic Chicken is one that never fails to do just that.

Theflavors of garlic and creaminess evoke memories of Sunday dinners with my family. This was a staple growing up that my mother would make to nourish our souls as much as our stomachs. Those warm, cozy feelings are why I’m eager to pass this recipe on to all of you.

Whether you’re looking for an easy weeknight meal or something special to share with loved ones, this one fits the bill. With familiar ingredients you likely already have in your pantry, it comes together in no time but tastes like it’s been slowly simmering away all day. That comforting depth of flavor never ceases to astound me.

More than just reminding me of where I came from, this Creamy Garlic Chicken brings me joy by connecting me to people. Cooking is my love language, and I get such fulfillment from nurturing others with food. Sharing a homemade meal and seeing smiles around the table is what life is all about in my eyes. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Now, without further ado, here is my Creamy Garlic Chicken recipe to fill your bellies and hearts.

1. How To Make Creamy Garlic Chicken

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Season chicken on both sides with salt and pepper. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches if needed, cook chicken skin-side down until browned, 5-7 minutes. Flip and cook 2-3 more minutes. Transfer to a plate and tent with foil to keep warm.

Add minced garlic to the hot skillet and cook 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth and use a wooden spoon to scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes to infuse the broth with garlic flavor. Pour in heavy cream and let simmer another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

Return chicken to the skillet, skin-side up, and spoon sauce over the top. Cover and simmer 15-20 more minutes, until chicken is cooked through.

Serve chicken drizzled with extra sauce, garnished with fresh parsley. Enjoy over rice or mashed potatoes to soak up every last drop!

Like many things that remind me of home, I find this dish deeply comforting in its simplicity. But the complex layers of garlic and cream come together in a way that feels so nourishing for both body and soul. I hope you experience the same warmth, and that these flavors bring you happy memories too. Please enjoy, and let me know if it becomes a new favorite of yours as well!
