1. What Are 3 Types of Boiled Eggs?

There are 3 different types of cooked eggs namely.

Soft-boiled: In this type, the yolk is runny (liquid-like), and the egg whites are soft.

Medium-boiled: The yolk is soft but not runny, and the egg whites are semi-firm.

Hard-boiled: Yolk is all set, and the egg whites are firm.

2. How To Cook Boiled Eggs on Stove

  • 8 eggs
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1 bowl of Ice-cold water
  • 4 tsp salt
  • Slotted spoon

Step 1: Place 5-6 eggs gently at the bottom of a saucepan and pour water. The water level should be half-full of the egg.

Step 2: Transfer the saucepan to the stove and bring the water to a boil over high heat. (*you may add a teaspoon of salt or half a teaspoon of white vinegar to save the eggs from cracking during the cooking process)

Step 3: Once the water comes to a rolling boil, turn off the stove. Cover the saucepan with a well-fitted lid and let it sit for 7 to 12 minutes on the hot stove. It depends on the type of boiled egg you want. It takes 12-15 minutes to hard-boil eggs, and it takes 5 minutes (for a runny yolk) or 7 minutes (for a semi-soft yolk) to soft-boil eggs

Step 4: To finish off, uncover, strain the water, and pour Iced water into the saucepan. Change the Iced water 2-3 times until the eggs have cooled and can be peeled.

3. How To Cook Boiled Eggs in Microwave

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 bowl of Ice-cold water
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 1 microwavable bowl

Step 1: First, place 6 eggs in the microwavable bowl. Using a fork, pierce the large end of each egg about six times to allow steam to escape while cooking and prevent them from exploding.

Step 2: Add 2 cups of water, and 3 teaspoons of salt to the bowl. Cook on high power for 3 minutes if you want soft-boiled eggs, 6 minutes for medium-boiled eggs, and 8 for hard-boiled eggs.

Step 3: After the initial cook time is up, let the eggs sit covered in the hot water for an additional 3–5 minutes if you want the eggs to finish cooking through. Use a slotted spoon or tongs to carefully transfer the cooked eggs to a bowl of ice water for 1 minute to stop them from cooking further. Pat dry with paper towels before peeling and eating.

5. Tips To Cook Boiled Eggs To Peel Easily?

Use eggs that are a few days older rather than fresh ones. Older eggs are more acidic, their shell soaks up more air, and they tend to contract in size, which all aid in peeling them after being boiled.

Adding a pinch of salt or half a teaspoon of any acidic vinegar at the time of boiling makes peeling convenient.

Cool the eggs completely before peeling them so that the shell gets slightly separated from the egg. To do so, put the boiled eggs in ice-cold water or rinse hot eggs in running cold tap water.

Roll the boiled & cooled eggs on the kitchen counter so that there are cracks all over. Begin to peel from a crack at the center of the egg, and you’ll notice that the shell will get removed effortlessly.
