Step 1: Pour 2½ cups of water in a pot and place it on the stove on high heat. Wait for the water to come to a boil.

Step 2: Add 2 cups of rinsed rice to the pot of boiling water. Stir once and wait until the water comes to a boil again.

Step 3: Place a well-fitted lid on the pot (so that the steam doesn’t escape). Adjust the heat to medium-low and allow the rice to simmer for 20 minutes.

Step 4: Next, turn off the stove and let it sit for 10 minutes. Lastly, remove the lid. Fluff the cooked rice to release the moisture and serve.  

Tips:

While boiling jasmine rice, avoid uncovering the lid. Otherwise, the steam will release and thereby affect the texture of the cooked jasmine rice. Also, if you want to add more flavor, you can add a little salt and use broth instead of just filtered water.
