1. How To Cook Wagyu Steak on Stove

Ingredients

  • 2 wagyu steak cuts (about 8 ounces each)
  • Salt and pepper (or your preferred steak seasoning)
  • 2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil

Instructions

Remove the Wagyu steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Preheat your cast iron pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it’s very hot.

While the pan is heating, pat the steaks dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture. Season them generously with salt and pepper or your preferred steak seasoning.

Add the canola or vegetable oil to the hot cast iron pan, swirling it around to coat the surface. Then carefully place the seasoned Wagyu steaks in the hot pan.

Allow the steaks to sear on one side without moving them for about 3-4 minutes. Next, flip the steaks using tongs or a spatula and sear them on the other side for another 2-3 minutes. You can adjust the cooking time based on your preferred level of doneness.

Once the steaks are cooked, remove them from the heat and transfer them to a cutting board or a plate. Let them rest for about 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Finally, slice the Wagyu steaks against the grain into thin strips and serve immediately
