1. Sauteed Red Cabbage Recipe

- Half of 1 red cabbage (shredded)
- 1½ tablespoons olive oil
- An onion (medium sliced)
- 5-6 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1½ tablespoons sugar
- A teaspoon of yellow mustard seeds
- Cayenne ground (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
How Long to Saute Red Cabbage with Onion?
It takes 15-16 minutes
Step 1: Place a wok (or non-stick pan) on the stove over medium-high heat.
Step 2: Pour the olive oil, and after 30-60 seconds when the oil gets hot, sprinkle the mustard seeds. Cook for a minute or so until they start to splutter.
Step 3: Add the sliced onions. Fry for a couple of minutes by stirring frequently.
Step 4: Transfer the entire shredded cabbage into the wok. Cook for 5-6 minutes by stirring regularly till the leaves wilt.
Step 5: Drizzle the white vinegar, add the sugar, and cook for 1-2 minutes by stirring.
Step 6: Season the red cabbage with salt and cayenne pepper as per your taste preference. Adjust the heat to medium-low and sauté for 8-10 more minutes.
Finally, turn off the stove and transfer to a serving dish. Do not leave the cabbage in the hot wok/pan otherwise, they will continue cooking and get overcooked.
