Ingredients

  • 1 Fresh Broccoli crown
  • Two tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
  • Five garlic cloves (unpeeled & smashed)
  • Kosher salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper powder (to taste)

Instructions – How to Roast Broccoli

Step 1: Prepare a large bowl; make sure it is large enough to contain broccoli. Put the brine mixture in the bowl, then hold the stem of the broccoli upside down and dip the cauliflower into the water. Rotate the broccoli around the bowl a few times, then soak it for 15 minutes.

After the broccoli is washed. Start by trimming off the stem/stock. As the stalk/step is edible thereby you can slice and use them in your recipes. Next, cut the broccoli florets at the stem end and separate them into bite-sized flat pieces

Finally, transfer the broccoli florets into a large bowl. Smash the peeled garlic cloves and put them in the bowl as well. Then drizzle the olive oil, and sprinkle salt & pepper seasoning! Mix with your hands so that the broccoli florets are well coated with the oil and seasoning.

Step 2: Set the oven for preheating at 400°F.

Step 3: Line a large-sized shallow baking tray with an aluminum sheet. Spread out the prepared and seasoned broccoli florets all over the baking tray so that they are in one layer. (*Not overlapping the florets, and leaving some space between each floret helps get crispy edges)

Step 4: Put the baking tray in the oven and let the broccoli florets roast for 20 minutes. At 10 minutes intervals, take the tray out of the oven, stir the florets, and put them back to finish roasting.
