Egg noodles make for a satisfying and comforting addition to many classic dishes. Dry egg noodles require only water and a brief cooking time before integrating them into your favorite recipes. In this article, I will instruct you how to cook egg noodles in 2 different ways.

1. Garlic Butter Egg Noodles Recipe

  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a hint of spice)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until they are al dente. Drain the noodles and set them aside.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet with the garlic butter mixture. Toss the noodles gently to coat them evenly with the butter and garlic.

Season the noodles with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.

Continue to cook the garlic butter egg noodles for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are heated through.

Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the noodles to a serving dish.

Garnish the garlic butter egg noodles with freshly chopped parsley for a touch of freshness and color.

2. Instant Pot Egg Noodles Recipe

  • 8 oz dry egg noodles
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper (optional)

Add olive oil to Instant Pot then select Sauté setting. Heat oil 1 minute.

Add dry noodles and toss constantly with tongs for 2 minutes until noodles are toasted but not browned.

Pour in broth and water. Add pinch of salt and pepper if desired.

Seal lid, ensuring valve is set to Sealing position. Select Pressure Cook then adjust cook time to 3 minutes.

When 3 minute timer ends, use quick release method by carefully switching valve to Venting position. Carefully open lid once pressure is fully released.

Check noodles for desired tenderness. If needed, secure lid and allow noodles to steam 1-2 minutes longer in residual heat.

Carefully drain noodles into a colander, reserving broth for another use if desired. Serve noodles immediately.
