Breaded pork chops are a delicious, easy dinner option that works for any night of the week. A crispy, crunchy coating hugs tender, juicy chops for a lovely contrast of flavors and textures in each bite. In this article, I will instruct you how to cook breaded pork chop perfection using three different cooking methods.

1. How To Cook Breaded Pork Chops in Oven

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1/2 inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1⁄2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.

Season pork chops lightly with salt and pepper. Place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs into three separate shallow dishes.

Dredge each pork chop first in flour, tapping off excess, then in egg, allowing any excess to drip off before finally pressing into the breadcrumbs until fully coated on both sides.

Arrange breaded pork chops on prepared baking sheet. Mix olive oil and seasonings and gently brush over the top of each pork chop.

Bake for 15-18 minutes until pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

For extra crispy chops, spray breaded chops lightly with oil before baking. Broil for 1-2 minutes at the end to really crisp them up.

2. How To Cook Breaded Pork Chops in Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1/2 inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1⁄2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

Preheat air fryer to 390°F.

Follow steps 2 and 3 above for preparing breaded chops.

Air fry breaded pork chops in batches for 9 minutes, gently flipping over halfway through. Brush tops lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with seasonings.

Air fry for another 2-4 minutes until chops register 145°F. Let rest before serving.

For extra crispy chops, spray or brush chops with a little oil before the second frying. Cook longer if needed to reach safe internal temperature.

3. How To Cook Breaded Pork Chops on Stove

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1/2 inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1⁄2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

Follow steps 2 and 3 in oven method to prepare breaded chops.

Season flour with salt, pepper, paprika and thyme and dredge chops again in the seasoned flour, coating thoroughly and tapping off excess.

In large nonstick skillet, heat 1 tbsp each oil and butter over medium-high heat. Add 2 pork chops and pan fry for about 3 minutes per side until deep golden brown and cooked through to 145°F. Repeat with second batch using remaining oil and butter.
